What Some People Do To Become Better Looking In Korea

Korea has a fever for Bimaxillary Operation.  So, what the heck is Bimaxillary Operation?  Simply put, it is a type of plastic surgery that involves cutting off parts of the upper and lower jaws to shorten the face and/or adjust the position that the two jaws meet.

People with protruding lower jaw and/or people with long faces are said to potentially benefit from the surgery and many people in the entertainment industry, both men and women, have transformed themselves by going through this extremely painful procedure.

We know that in Korea one must almost obsess over his/her appearance to fit in.  Would you go under the knife if you could transform yourself?  Well, see for yourself some of the most publicized cases of having gone through the procedure before you answer.

  Here's before the surgery.
  Here's after.

 Before & After

Now, take a look at a short video on what the procedure is if you thought it looked interesting.

Scary, isn't it?

To go to that length to adjust your face you would have to be a major risk taker since you'd have to trust another imperfect human to take a scalpel to your face. I wouldn't take that 5 percent or so chance of destroying my face even though the odds are probably in my favor. You're gambling 95% chance of looking like Brad Pitt vs. 5% chance of becoming a Michael Jackson - personally I'll pass!
