멤피스 킹 바베큐 Memphis King BBQ is a family owned restaurant that originated in 2009. The idea to launch MKB was conceived by the Chang family after living in Memphis, TN for over 25 years. Memphis King BBQ partnered up with a meat packing company in Memphis with over 70 years experience in barbecue in order to provide Seoul, Korea with authentic Memphis BBQ ribs. What else sets MKB apart from the rest of the BBQ joints in Seoul? 1. Our ribs are not boiled like majority of the ribs in Seoul 2. Unlike the ribs processed in Seoul, MKB’s ribs do not skimp you on the meat portions by cutting off the top layer of the ribs. 3. Because our ribs are smoked in an industrialized pressure smoker from a smokehouse with over 70 years experience, you won’t have to worry about an overwhelming pork scent. 4. MKB’s ribs are imported from the barbecue capital of the world so you KNOW you’re getting true authentic Memphis ribs. 5. Most rib joints charge 30,000won + for a slab of ribs that leaves you utterly disappointed with the portion to price ratio; but MKB’s rib meal is only 25,000won and serves you with an average portion of 800 grams per slab! 6. Have you ever bit into a rib that claimed to be smoked but realized the inside of the meat didn’t taste the same as the outside? Well that’s because those ribs use “liquid smoke” to flavor their ribs. Unlike the rest, MKB’s ribs are smoked inside and out so you can expect to taste a consistent flavor of hickory smoked goodness in every bite! Many famous celebrities such Justin Timberlake, Bill Clinton, and others have all enjoyed the greatness of Memphis barbecue whenever they visit. The ribs in Memphis are world renowned and is the home of the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. From such a reputable city for BBQ, Memphis King BBQ was born.On June 23rd 2010, MKB launched its first satellite restaurant in Bangbae and has been operating ever since. Menu description below provided by the restaurant: Menu This delectable appetizer is a toasted flour tortilla topped with melted mozzarella cheese, pulled pork, diced jalapenos, green onions, and glazed with siracha and barbecue sauce. It is served with a side ramekin of sour cream to compliment its sweet and spicy flavors. Price: 5,500won Name: BBQ Sandwich Drinks Uncle Earl’s Coke Float (2,900won); Strawberry Smoothie (4,500won); Coffee Mocha Frappe (4,500won) Directions: In order to get to MKB, you want to exit out of exit #3 at Bangbae station on line 2(the green line). Bangbae is just 3 subway stops from Kangnam and is 1 subway stop away from the major subway terminal, Sadang station. Once you exit out of exit number 3, go straight and you will pass a Duncan Donuts at the first alley to your left. Keep going until you see a KB bank at the 2nd alley and take a left into the alley. Walk straight until you hit the four-way intersection and take a right. MKB will be directly to your right side. |

if you're craving for some good hearty soul food, this is the place to be! The ribs are amazing as they're seasoned just right and the tender meat falls right off the bone as it lands into your mouth for a heavenly delectable experience.
The ribs are definitely their speciality and one of the best that i've had. Also another dish that i have tried and found cravings only a few days later is their BBQ spagetti. It has a savory spicy kick and is jammed packed with flavor. As for dessert, you have to try their sweet potato coffee pie! it's not necessary the type of pie you get back in the states but it's definitely worth a try. it's resembles more of a korean pastry but you definitely get the crisp buttery taste from its outer shell. The inner contents are of a soft, sweet (but not too sweet), and distinct coffee taste. It's the perfect way to end your night of hearty goodness. make sure to check this place out and bring your friends along. for the quality of food, the prices are absolutely great. you can pig out american style and not worry about your wallet!
